Problem
Back pain is a widespread issue affecting people of all ages, yet many suffer in silence without proper guidance or timely treatment. Especially after the rise of remote work post-COVID, sedentary lifestyles increased, exacerbating the problem. Access to physiotherapy is often hindered by long waiting times, costs, or lack of awareness about simple at-home solutions.
Solution
We developed Lumbarpal through user research and expert consultation, combining real patient interviews and physiotherapist insights to create a simple yet effective digital treatment plan. The platform features guided exercises tailored to mild lower back pain, a symptom tracker, and a smart questionnaire that assesses pain levels and adapts the plan over time. This empowers users to take control of their back health without needing clinical appointments.

Impact
Through our initial survey of 50 people, we confirmed that over 50% experienced lower back pain, and most had sedentary habits. Lumbarpal offers an accessible and user-friendly approach to proactive back care, reducing dependency on in-person physiotherapy sessions and providing relief in a structured, data-driven manner.
